Little Steven – November 2012 Classic Rock Birthdays

Bruce Springsteen's guitarist Little Steven (aka Steven Van Zandt) celebrates his 62nd birthday on Nov. 22.

The guitarist has enjoyed two stints with Springsteen, laying the licks for such favorites as 'Born to Run,' 'Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,' and 'Glory Days' among others. He left the group in 1984 at the height of the 'Born in the U.S.A.' success, but returned to the fold for good in 1999.

Van Zandt has also enjoyed a burgeoning career as an actor over the last decade-plus, most notably starring as Silvio Dante on the long-running HBO series 'The Sopranos.' He's also served as host of the garage rock radio show, 'Little Steven's Underground Garage.'
