When Little Steven isn't busy rocking with Bruce Springsteen as a member of the E Street Band or hosting his Underground Garage radio show, he runs a record label called Wicked Cool Records. The label's latest offering is a band hailing from New York called Spanking Charlene, who released their new album, ''Where Are The Freaks?,' on Tuesday (Jan. 17). Little Steven produced the album and is a guest musician on the disc as well.

To have the honor of recording for Wicked Cool, Spanking Charlene beat out 1,000 bands to win Sirius XM Radio's "Best Unsigned Band In America" contest. Two of the disc's singles -- 'Dismissed With a Kiss' and 'Canarsie' --  feature Little Steven guesting on keyboards and have each spent a week as "The Coolest Song in the World" on his radio show.

Listen to those tracks and several more on the band's official website. The band will host a record release party on Saturday (Jan. 21) in New York and Jan. 28 in Bordentown, N.J. Check out their complete live itinerary here.

"Spanking Charlene are one of our four favorite working class bands in New York," raves Little Steven. "They're great ... constantly getting better." And you best listen to Little Steven -- he was, after all, someone you really didn't want to mess with on 'The Sopranos.'
