Lindsey Buckingham, the guitarist, producing and songwriting genius of Fleetwood Mac, celebrates his 61st birthday on October 3.

Buckingham first joined the group with then-girlfriend Stevie Nicks in 1975. Together the pair drew the band into more pop-oriented territory, which resulted in some of the biggest hit albums and songs in rock history.

He left the group in 1987 but returned a decade later for a highly successful reunion tour. While fans are all itching for the band's much rumored new album and (yet another) reunion tour -- both supposedly coming in 2013 -- they more than happily enjoyed Buckingham's 2012 solo concerts
