He may be getting older, but Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett isn't ready to 'Fade to Black.' In fact, the guitarist recently stated he couldn't envision retiring. That's good because he'll be turning the still very young age of 50 on Nov. 18.

Hammett, who started his career with the '80s metal favorites Exodus, eventually accepted an invite to join Metallica in 1983 after their ousting of guitarist Dave Mustaine and the rest is history.

During his tenure, the band has created such hard-rocking fan favorites as 'One,' 'Enter Sandman,' 'The Unforgiven,' and 'Seek and Destroy.'
