King Crimson leader Robert Fripp pays tribute to his old friend and collaborator David Bowie on the band’s upcoming live EP, which includes a recent cover of Bowie’s classic “Heroes.”

Due June 2, the descriptively titled Heroes: Live in Europe 2016 rounds up a small assortment of recordings captured during last year’s King Crimson tour — all of which serve as an appetizer of sorts for a full-length live LP culled from the group’s 2016 dates, planned for release in September. In addition to the full-length “Heroes” and a “radio edit” of the performance, Heroes also includes “Easy Money,” an edit of “Starless” and “The Hell Hounds of Krim.”

“King Crimson performed Heroes at the Admiralspalast in Berlin as a celebration, a remembrancing and an homage,” says the band. “The concert was 39 years and one month after the original sessions at the Hansa Tonstudio overlooking the Berlin Wall. This is released in the 40th anniversary year.”

Crimson’s Heroes EP, available to pre-order now, is due to arrive shortly after another Bowie-related piece of product: a 30th anniversary vinyl reissue of the Labyrinth soundtrack, making its way back to the format for the first time since its initial printing in 1986.

Out of print for years, the LP — which features five Bowie originals alongside seven cuts from Trevor Jones’ score — will reportedly be pressed on 120g vinyl and come complete with reproduced original artwork as well as an inner sleeve emblazoned with photos of Bowie’s Goblin King character from the film. The anniversary edition, scheduled for a May 12 arrival, is also available to pre-order now.
