Keith Richards Talks Up His Jack White Recordings, Possible Rolling Stones Sessions
They’ve famously shared the concert stage, strumming guitars side by side at New York’s Beacon Theatre in the 2006 Rolling Stones concert film, ‘Shine a Light.’ But the collaborative relationship between Stones guitarist Keith Richards and indie-rock stud Jack White also extends to the studio — and Richards has no problem with the recordings they made three years ago reaching the public.
"I don't know if [Jack] ever considered that it was actually, like, master cuts," Richards recently told Rolling Stone magazine. "But at the same time if Jack wanted to [release them], I'd probably say, 'Yeah.' "
Speaking of recording, Richards would like to see the Stones hit the studio soon.
"We're going to talk about that in July and see," said Richards, referring to a Stones meeting that's scheduled to take place in London and focus on the band's 50th anniversary plans. "I mean, I'd love to get some tracks down and see what songs we've got. And that goes along with part of getting the band back together and getting things moving.”
