Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones seems to have caught the writing bug -- but instead of penning another autobiography, the guitar legend is releasing a children's picture book.

The rocker has announced an illustrated children's book entitled 'Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar' and it's quite the family affair -- his daughter Theodora Richards provided the pictures.

The story iwas inspired by a tale from Richards' childhood which he originally shared in his best-selling memoir 'Life.' Even more adorable, the story is inspired by his grandfather Theodore Augustus Dupree, whom Theodora Dupree is named after, and who instilled in Richards a deep love of music.

"I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I’m talking about," Richards said of his book, which is about the bond between a grandfather and their grandchildren. "The bond, the special bond, between kids and grandparents is unique and should be treasured. This is a story of one of those magical moments. May I be as great a grandfather as Gus was to me."

Added Theodora, "To be able to explore my father’s relationship with his grandfather was a gift in itself. The things that I’ve learnt during this whole process have just been life affirming." The father-daughter team's first book will be available for purchase on September 9, 2014 in conjunction with the Hachette Book Group imprint Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.
