One of rock’s most influential rhythm sections will be celebrated at an upcoming tribute concert. For the second year in a row, an all-star lineup will tackle the music of John Entwistle and Keith Moon, the backbone of the Who, this time on Jan. 24, 2015 at the Observatory in Santa Ana, Calif.

’Entwistle / Moon: The Ox & the Loon’ is the brainchild of former Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy and co-producer Joe Sutton. The duo have held several similar “Bonzo Bash” shows on May 31, John Bonham’s birthday, and last year put on a tribute to Randy Rhoads.

The lineup brings back many participants from last year’s show. In addition to Tichy, the drummers include, among others, Kenny Aronoff, Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Rikki Rockett (Poison) and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater). Bass chores will be handled by such names as Billy Sheehan,  Phil Chen (Rod Stewart), Dug Pinnick (King’s X) and Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy). Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses) and Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big) will also be involved.

The show is the third night of the California Music Fest. For complete information, visit their website.
