Journey will perform its first-ever orchestra date on June 20, when the band opens the 2015 Hollywood Bowl season alongside Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

The Hollywood Bowl show comes in the midst of a typically busy touring season for Journey that already includes a pair of dates with Styx for the Carnival Live Concert series as well as the band's residency at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas during April and May. They'll also be heading out for a run of shows with Tower of Power and the Steve Miller Band in March.

And while the prospect of a new Journey album is still the stuff of rumors, the 2015 touring season still finds various members of the band either prepping or promoting a handful of new releases. Guitarist Neal Schon has been back in the studio with the original Santana lineup, putting the finishing touches on a reunion LP that's inching its way toward completion, while drummer Deen Castronovo recently put out the first album from his new band Revolution Saints, which also features Night Ranger bassist Jack Blades and former Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich.

Proceeds from the Hollywood Bowl concert, which also includes a fireworks show, benefit the Los Angeles Philharmonic and its education and community programs that reach more than 120,000 children, teachers and adults every year. Multi-ticket packages go on sale March 17 at the venue website, with single seats available May 3. For details regarding the event's VIP package, which includes a reception and dinner and ranges between $2,300 and $15,750, call 213-972-3051.
