As of this time, "it's unclear what prompted the medical emergency, but it appears to be quite serious," according to TMZ.

Last year, Mitchell admitted that she suffers from a rare skin condition, called Morgellons. She said that the ailment has confined her to home, and has even made wearing clothing unbearable. The condition is considered controversial among medical professionals, many of whom claim that it is psychological.

At the time, Mitchell said that the illness is incurable, stating that “fibers in a variety of colors protrude out of my skin like mushrooms after a rainstorm … They cannot be forensically identified as animal, vegetable or mineral.”
