Joni Mitchell – November 2012 Classic Rock Birthdays
Legendary vocalist Joni Mitchell is also part of the November birthday club. The singer-songwriter turns 69 on Nov. 7.
Mitchell’s experimentation with folk and jazz made her one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. She was responsible for the Grammy-nominated track ‘Help Me,’ the oft-covered song ‘Big Yellow Taxi,’ and such other favorites as ‘Coyote,’ and ‘Free Man in Paris.’
“Artist” is a word that truly describes Mitchell, who designs her own album artwork and remained committed to painting after retiring from touring.
