John Fogerty Announces October Release for Memoir, Adds '1969' Tour Dates

The journey into the past that John Fogerty embarked on with last year's "1969" tour is set to continue with the fall publication of Fogerty's memoir and a fresh round of concert commitments.

Fogerty's book, titled Fortunate Son: My Life, My Music, is scheduled for an Oct. 6 release, and promises what the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman assures fans is an unvarnished look back at the highs and lows of his personal and professional history. "I’m excited to share my story and my life with you," he says in a statement. "You’re going to hear where it all started, my passion to become the best musician I could be. You’ll travel down some rough roads, but that road leads to something beautiful. My book won’t be sugarcoated! It’s all in there."

Prior to Fortunate Son's arrival, Fogerty plans to launch another North American leg of the ongoing "1969" tour, starting May 2 at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis and concluding with an Aug. 9 stop in New Mexico.
