Dr. John fans are being offered an advance peek at an upcoming double-disc tribute to the musical icon with the premiere of John Fogerty's performance of "New Orleans."

Fogerty's rendition of the song, which you can watch via the video embed above, was recorded during the same all-star tribute concert that makes up the rest of The Musical Mojo of Dr. John. Recorded in 2014 and scheduled to arrive on CD/DVD/Blu-ray Oct. 14, Mojo collects an assortment of the good Doctor's peers and musical disciples performing songs pulled from his catalog and New Orleans' musical tradition, including Bruce Springsteen (chipping in with Dr. John on a performance of "Right Place Wrong Time"), Fogerty, and Warren Haynes.

"It was very moving to have all these people paying tribute to me, but I just treated it like it was another show," Dr. John said in a press release announcing Mojo's arrival. "The whole night felt pretty special, and everyone’s performance was spiritually correct. ... I try not to look back too much, but it really moved me to have all of these people paying tribute. But I want people to know that I’m still in the game and still have a lot more music in me."
