Joe Satriani Announces 'Surfing to Shockwave' Retrospective Tour

Joe Satriani will celebrate 30 years as a recording artist with a retrospective tour that's set to launch in February 2016.

Timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of his debut LP, Not of This Earth, Satriani's Surfing to Shockwave dates promise to dig deep into his extensive catalog; as the press release announcing the tour puts it, "The shows will highlight music over Satriani's entire career, including songs the legendary guitarist hasn’t played live in over 20 years."

The Surfing to Shockwave tour follows the recent release of Satriani's 15th studio effort, Shockwave Supernova, which notched his highest-ever Billboard chart debut when it bowed at No. 19 in August, making it the highest-charting instrumental rock LP since the introduction of SoundScan sales data in 1991.
