It all started with the December 1966 single 'Hey Joe.' And this April, Jimi Hendrix's relationship with seven-inch vinyl releases will get a reboot with the first in a picture-sleeve series of rare and unique recordings on the Sundazed Music label.

The debut release in the ongoing vinyl-single series will feature a pair of BBC performances by the Jimi Hendrix Experience — singer/guitarist Hendrix, bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell — from 1967.

On one side is a cover of the Bob Dylan song 'Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?' from the BBC Radio program called 'Rhythm and Blues' (this rendition previously appeared on 'BBC Sessions,' a 2010 Jimi Hendrix Experience compilation). The single's flip side is a recently unearthed rendition of 'Burning of the Midnight Lamp' that comes from the long-running BBC television show 'Top of the Pops.'

Janie Hendrix, the president and CEO of Experience Hendrix (which manages the music of the legendary guitarist), believes the new Sundazed singles series honors the history of her late brother and his band and "expands on it in a very real way."

"It is traditional yet innovative," she adds, "as Jimi certainly was."
