Forty years ago today (July 3), the music world lost its Lizard King, as Doors singer Jim Morrison passed away at the tender age of 27 in 1971. A true rock legend, Morrison redefined the role of frontman and defied the rules of music. He was a rebel, a poet and a visionary. While his life on earth was brief, his music lives on forever.
