The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has recently put the hunt for a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis all over your social media feed -- and raised millions of dollars in research funds along the way. For guitarist Jason Becker, however, the disease has been a daily fact of life for more than 20 years.

Becker's battle with ALS, commemorated in the 2012 documentary 'Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet,' has placed him at the center of an ongoing rally to help pay for his care and comfort, as well as find new treatments for the progressive neurodegenerative disease, which shortens its victims' life expectancy while gradually robbing them of the ability to move or speak. On Aug. 30, those ongoing efforts continue with a benefit show that's being called the Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet: 3 Music Festival.

Scheduled to be held at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, Not Dead Yet 3 promises an all-ages night of "live guitar-driven music," starting at 8PM and featuring appearances from Richie Kotzen (Winery Dogs, Poison, Mr. Big), Steve Hunter (Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, David Lee Roth), Michael Lee Frikins, Spiral Arms and Ben Woods. The VIP package, which includes dinner and admission, is already sold out, but general admission tickets, which cost $30 including service fee, are still available at this link.

All proceeds from the event will support the Jason Becker Special Needs Trust. For more information, visit Becker's official site.
