As often as not, bands tend to distance themselves from the reissue projects released in their name, saying the label handled everything and they weren't even involved. Happily, that doesn't seem to be the case for the upcoming round of Iron Maiden records receiving the vinyl remaster treatment.

As previously reported, the band's first eight albums are being reissued on 180-gram vinyl, along with a series of collectible 7" singles. The reissues, which started in mid-October, all boast sound cut from the original analog tapes as well as "replica artwork packaging."

Maiden fans who've wondered about the process behind a project like this can have their curiosity satisfied by watching a pair of videos recently posted by the band, one of which delves into the work that went into restoring the albums' art, and another that offers a look at how those original tapes were used to bring these classic albums back to vinyl.

You can watch one the clips above and another one below. And after you're finished watching, be sure to head over to your local record store to pick up and/or order copies of the reissues -- you can check out the complete list right here.
