With the NFL season kicking off this month, we’ve decided to team up with Loudwire to create teams for 16 other great bands — and let you decide which squad deserves to win the first annual Hard Rock Football League title.

Both teams won their round one match-ups very easily, with Iron Maiden running the score up pretty high on Heart's Seattle Barracudas, and Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Freebirds' rather handily defeating Ted Nugent's Motor City Mad Men.

So who gets your vote -- the Troopers or the Freebirds? You can vote once an hour for your favorite team from now until 8AM ET on Tuesday, Sept. 16, in both of our quarterfinal battles. The winner of the Hard Rock Football League will be announced on Sept. 30.
