We're pretty sure that being born in England makes him ineligible, but former Mott the Hoople frontman Ian Hunter throws his hat into our election ring anyway with the Sept. 4 release of 'When I'm President.'

Actually, unlike his most recent album, 2009's 'Man Overboard,' don't look for a ton of heavy-handed political messages on 'When I'm President.' “The songs seem to be more upbeat this time round,” Hunter explains. “The last two albums were pretty political, just because I thought the Bush years were horrible, and thankfully that’s passed.”

Hunter and his Rant band will embark on a tour to promote the album starting Sept. 1 in Portland, OR.
