From pretty much any point on the planet, Australia is far away, which has the unfortunate effect of making touring there an extremely occasional event for even the biggest rock stars. This spring, however, it'll be Guns N' Roses' turn to head down under -- for a series of dates that will see them playing five of the continent's biggest cities with ZZ Top as a supporting act, along with Australian rock legends the Angels.

The shows are scheduled to take place in March, with the bands going to Perth, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Brisbane. It marks GNR's first Australian tour since 2010 -- and the first time they've played Melbourne since 2007. ZZ Top last visited in 2011, breaking a 10-year hiatus; their Australian jaunt will be part of a broader series of dates that will see them devoting a substantial portion of the year performing outside the U.S.

"I can’t wait for these shows next March," enthused promoter Andrew McManus. "Axl Rose is a legend and I can’t wait to see Guns N’ Roses play to their legion of Aussie fans again. I’m so proud to be bringing them back to Australia and am looking forward to a great tour with fellow rockers ZZ Top and the Angels."

Tickets are set to go on sale Jan. 25. Check out the complete list of dates below.
