Well, we were promised something "completely different" with Guns N' Roses second Las Vegas residency. Last night (May 31). Duff McKagan shocked everybody by taking the stage with his former band.

A snippet of video exists thanks to a Brazilian Guns N' Roses fan club who posted it to their Facebook page. The news was not announced beforehand.

After the show, McKagan tweeted, "Thank you Las Vegas/Joint! Love playing those f*cking songs! @gunsnroses."

Back in April, McKagan rejoined Guns N' Roses for five dates on their South American tour while current bassist Tommy Stinson was on duty with his original band, the Replacements. They marked his first full concerts with the band since 1994. A few weeks later, he appeared with them at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards show.

Guns N' Roses' residency at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will conclude on June 7. After that, they plan to go back in the studio. Last week, Axl Rose said they had enough material for two albums. "We recorded a lot of things before ’Chinese [Democracy]‘ was out,” he said. “But basically, we have what I call kind of the second half of ’Chinese.’ That’s already recorded. And then we have a remix album made of the songs from ’Chinese.’
