The surviving four core members of the Grateful Dead played the first of five "Fare Thee Well" reunion / farewell shows last night in Santa Clara, California – and we've got lots of great photos from the big event and the band's rehearsal sessions.

You can read our full report of the show – complete with video, the full setlist and even more photos – right over here. But in a nutshell, the performance found the band very quickly shaking off some understandable rust in the early going, then delighting the sold-out crowd at Levi's Stadium with a set that focused entirely on the Dead's early years.

The trek continues with another show in Santa Clara tonight, followed by a three-night stand at Chicago's Soldier field over the Fourth of July weekend. For complete details on how long it's been since the Grateful Dead performed together, who's involved and what they've been doing the past two decades or so, and how you can watch or listen to the shows even if you don't have a ticket, check out our helpful guide of "Fare The Well" facts.
