David Gilmour's wife has provided a glimpse into the sessions for the former Pink Floyd guitarist's upcoming solo effort via Instagram. Gilmour is shown in the studio with longtime backup singer Durga McBroom and others in this picture, uploaded by Polly Samson.

Gilmour's as-yet-unannounced new album, his first since 2006's 'On an Island,' was first mentioned by Graham Nash last November, when the Crosby, Stills & Nash star confirmed that he and David Crosby were again working with Gilmour. Previously, Nash and Crosby provided additional vocals to the title track from 'On an Island,' and also appeared as part of the subsequent Gilmour concert film 'Remember that Night.'

McBroom has since made light of the photograph's larger implications: "Guess what??? LOL! This is me, Sarah Brown, Louise Clare Marshall, and this funny dude we found strumming a guitar in Hove. His wife Polly leaked the photo on Instagram. Naughty girl!”

Samson co-wrote songs for 'On an Island,' as well as for Pink Floyd's final studio recording, 1994's 'Division Bell.' McBroom began touring with Pink Floyd after the release of 1987's 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason,' continuing through to their final concerts in '94. She's later appeared on stage over the years with Gilmour as a solo artist.
