Genesis Announce ‘Together and Apart’ Documentary

Facebook

Although it’s not the reunion tour that fans of progressive rock legends Genesis have been hoping for, the band just revealed that they have been working on a big new project together.

Keyboardist Tony Banks shared a new picture of the group’s famous 1971-75 lineup on his Facebook page, while also divulging that the band has been working in conjunction with the BBC to produce their first-ever documentary, ‘Genesis: Together and Apart.’ This marks the first time that this beloved version of Genesis – Tony Banks, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Steve Hackett – have been together since 1975.

‘Genesis: Together and Apart’ will offer a unique perspective into not only one of the most successful bands in rock history, but one of the most musically adventurous as well. From their start as a group of songwriters through theatrical progressive rock, jazzy pop and their final incarnation as chart-topping pop superstars, the documentary will focus on the band’s ever-evolving songwriting. It will also offer a glimpse of previously unseen and rare performance footage taken from throughout their career.

A release date for ’Genesis: Together and Apart’ has not yet been confirmed.
