Gene Simmons Watches His Daughter Audition For ‘The X Factor’
Gene Simmons of Kiss became a world-famous musician the old-fashioned way: by working hard both in the studio and on stage. However, his daughter Sophie is taking a more modern approach to her budding singing career, by auditioning for 'The X Factor.'
According to TMZ, the 19-year old Sophie was in San Francisco over the weekend to audition for the Simon Cowell-produced television show. While we don't know whether or not she passed, we do know that her father was in attendance. The night before, Sophie called Gene to say that she would be unable to spend Father's Day with him due to her tryout. Simmons then took a private jet and flew to San Francisco to provide parental support.
Sophie's singing career has been featured on the reality show, 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels.' Watch the video below and decide for yourself if she has what it takes. She claims she's not trying to use her name to sway the judges in her favor. She told the panel that she wanted a "fair shot," adding, "This isn't about my dad. This is about my audition." Still, the idea of Britney Spears judging anybody's vocal talents strikes us as somewhat ludicrous.
We will learn Simmons' fate when 'The X Factor' begins its second season in September.
