Foo Fighters Offer Peek at ‘Sonic Highways’ Tracks in New Series Teaser

We're counting down the days until Foo Fighters premiere their new 'Sonic Highways' series and album on HBO Oct. 17, but if you've got HBO Go, you can get an extra early glimpse of what the band has in store.

Consequence of Sound reports that the Foos have unveiled a five-minute extended trailer for the eight-part documentary, which follows the group as they travel around the country interviewing various artists (including Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, LL Cool J, Chuck D, Joan Jett, Bonnie Raitt and Slash) and recording the eight new songs on 'Sonic Highways.' Included in the clip are bits of the album cuts 'Something From Nothing' (including the line "Here lies a city on fire / Singing along / The arsonist choir / And I here I go") and 'Feast and the Famine,' in addition to a handful of instrumental bits.

If you don't have access to HBO Go, you'll just have to wait for a better look at the series -- and a little longer for the album, which is scheduled to arrive on Nov. 10. But the band has also been doling out bits and pieces from the 'Sonic Highways' series via its YouTube channel, including the 30-second clip you can watch above, which finds frontman Dave Grohl promising that this album's all-star travelogue action is just the beginning in terms of off-the-wall record-making from the band. "Wait until you see what we're gonna do for the next record," he promises. "I'm not kidding. We already know."

In other Foo news, the band is planning a week-long residency on on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ next week.
