The Foo Fighters are finally ready to give us a glimpse of their upcoming 'Sonic Highways' LP. Sort of.

If you're hoping to make an in-depth appraisal of the new music -- or even be treated to a stream of so much as a single song -- you're still out of luck. But thanks to a quick-minded fan who managed to hit "record" at the right time during a recent London gig, you can hear an instrumental version of the new cut 'Outside,' performed in the middle of that evening's rendition of 'The Pretender,' a song from the Foos' 2007 album 'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace.'

It's admittedly not much to go on, but we have to admit that the band is doing a fine job of ramping up anticipation for the record, not to mention the eight-part series they filmed for HBO while traveling the U.S. and recording at some of the country's finest studios.

So check out that live footage in the video above, and keep an eye on the calendar for the big Foo days ahead: Oct. 17, when the 'Sonic Highways' show debuts, and Nov. 10, when the album is scheduled to arrive in stores.
