Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" serves as the soundtrack to the newest commercial for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which premiered during Super Bowl 51.

"The Chain" comes from the band's 1977 masterpiece Rumours, which earlier this week celebrated its 40th birthday. It is one of several songs on the album to chronicle the two failing relationships within the band (between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham and John and Christine McVie) at the time of its recording.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy movie prominently featured rock and radio classics such as the Runaways' "Cherry Bomb" and Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling" not only on its soundtrack but as a major part of the film's plot. The film's hero, Peter Quill, risked life and limb in order to save his beloved walkman, which held a mix tape from his dead mother that contained the songs.

Buckingham and Christine McVie recently announced that they are working on their first-ever duets album, with John McVie and drummer Mick Fleetwood also participating in the recording. Nicks is currently focusing on her solo career, touring to promote her 2014 24 Karat Gold - Songs From the Vault album with support from the Pretenders.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in theaters nationwide on May 5.
