Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton came together earlier this year for an steamy evening's worth of their combined blues power. Fans will have an opportunity to preview the results of the collaboration next week on Sept. 7 thanks to nationwide screenings being presented by NCM Fathom and Reprise Records.

‘Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton Play The Blues’ finds the pair of musical legends engaged in an intoxicating mix of jazz and blues. Noted blues lover Clapton shepherded the selection of most of the material performed on the night. Blues musician Taj Mahal, who opened the show, sits in with Clapton and Marsalis for two songs during the broadcast, which also features exclusive behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage.

One of the most familiar selections in the evening's setlist is a version of Clapton's 'Layla' that features a new arrangement described as a "Crescent City dirge."

Tickets are available at the box office and online. For a list of participating theaters, click here.

Recorded at Jazz at Lincoln Center over three nights in April, the Marsalis/Clapton performances will be available September 13 as a physical release on CD and DVD.
