Elton John – Coolest Costumes in Rock

It seems hard to imagine any classic rocker in history who has more outrageous costumes in his closet than the one and only “Captain Fantasic,’ Elton John.

The piano-playing legend could equip the Chinese army for Halloween with all the crazy outfits he’s worn on stage at one point or another during his career. If you don’t believe us, you can see many of them on the cover of his 1988 album ‘Reg Strikes Back.’

In fact, the only hard part was deciding which costume we’d choose to represent Elton. We couldn’t find a legally cleared photo of his 1980 Central Park “Donald Duck” getup, so we narrowly passed over his Statue of Liberty outfit in favor of this lovely black and yellow bee costume. Think we made the right choice?
