The legendary Donovan has just announced three special live performances in the US. The three dates -- Washington, DC, New York City and Los Angeles -- will all take place in October. This marks a welcome return to the concert stage for the rock legend and follows on the heels of his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame earlier this year.

Last May, in an exclusive interview, Donovan told us "I’m stretching my vocal muscles, just feeling myself out. An actual tour is uncertain," but now according to his website, these three concerts are "more like a party as the real tour follows in the spring of 2013." That's good news for Donovan fans, as opportunities to see the psychedelic minstrel have been few and far between. The tour will be announced shortly.

In recent years, Donovan has limited his live appearances to a select few, among those a concert for the TM foundation set up by his friend, filmmaker David Lynch. In 2011 he performed his classic 'Sunshine Superman' album in it's entirety in London in a special concert that featured, among others, Jimmy Page, who had played on the original recordings.

Donovan Concert Dates:

Oct. 6 -- Washington, D.C. -- The Hamilton
Oct. 19 -- New York City, N.Y. -- The Ethical Cultural Hall
Oct. 28 -- Los Angeles, Calif. -- The El Rey
