Don Henley – July 2012 Classic Rock Birthdays
It's rare that the drummer takes center stage, but with the '70s rockers the Eagles, Don Henley was frequently the man on the mic. The musician, who turns 65 on July 22, sang lead on such favorites as 'Desperado,' 'Best of My Love,' and 'Hotel California.'
He also enjoyed quite the successful solo career with a string of '80s hits like 'Dirty Laundry,' 'Boys of Summer,' and 'The End of the Innocence.' In addition to his music career, Henley became rather active in environmental issues and political causes, with his Walden Woods project becoming his philanthropic calling card. Here's a few other things you might not have known about him.
