The Eagles have always been admired in music, and much of the reason has to do with the unique sound and guitar style of musician / songwriter Don Felder, who turns 65 on Sept. 21.

Before joining the band in what would be their most successful years, Felder got his start in the Continentals, which also featured Stephen Stills.

He left the group amidst rather unfriendly circumstances in  2001, and is about to release his first solo album in nearly three decades, 'Road to Forever.'
