Devo are hitting the road for a short 11-date U.S. tour this summer. Though founding guitarist Bob Casale passed away in February, the band have put this tour together in memory of their lost bandmate.

A portion of the tour's proceeds will go to the fund set up to help Casale's family with outstanding debts left after his death.

The tour will also have special significance for die-hard fans in that part of each show will be dedicated to the earliest Devo music dating back to their more experimental days of 1974 through 1977. That era was covered in depth on the recent re-issues of the 'Hardcore Devo' CD collections.

Devo have also announced they will have a few items available as part of Record Store Day on April 19 that are sure to thrill fans. The band will share a 7" vinyl single with the Flaming Lips, who cover 'Gates Of Steel' with the Devo original on the flipside. Also in store is a vinyl picture disc from 1996, and most significantly, 'Live At Max's Kansas City' which dates from November of 1977.

This show is legendary as it was attended by David Bowie who introduced Devo, calling them, “The band of the future!”.

According to the official Devo Facebook page, 'Live At Max's' is limited to 2,000 copies worldwide.
