Deep Purple will halt work on a follow up to the well-received ‘Now What?’ for a summer tour of North America. Planned stops, listed below, range from coast to coast.

The first date on the itinerary in Scottsdale, Arizona is set to take place just two weeks after they wrap up another extensive set of European concerts. That's par for the course for a group that has spent the last few years touring as extensively as any in rock.

Meanwhile, the indefatigable Deep Purple began preparing a new album in between shows. As Ian Gillan noted recently, they're not close to slowing down.

“We have been called old rockers, rock pensioners and dinosaurs,” he said. “I mean, I have a thick skin. I understand that, of course, if the young ones say: ‘Step aside, Grandpa! Die at last!’ I think to myself then stop: ‘F— you.’”
