Dead and Company, the new band featuring John Mayer and members of the Grateful Dead, made their television debut on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night, and you can tune in to their performance right here.

As previously reported, the group is scheduled to embark on a summer tour this year, starting with a June 9 stop at the Bonnaroo Festival and concluding with a two-night stand in Boston on July 15 and 16. The new dates follow a run of shows that kept the band busy for much of last fall.

Dead and Company's summer tour was expected after Mayer hinted at more activity on the horizon late last year, telling the audience at one show that "at the risk of rocking any boats, known and unknown," they expected to resume touring in 2016.

For its TV debut, the band selected the title track from the Dead's 1978 album Shakedown Street, which you can watch above, and included a web-exclusive performance of "Brown-Eyed Women," a song originally earmarked for the follow-up to American Beauty that ultimately surfaced on Europe '72. You can check out that portion of the performance below.

Mayer discussed his road to Dead fandom in a Billboard interview last year, explaining he only picked up the bug in 2011 after chancing across some tracks while using the Pandora streaming service. Having missed the band in its heyday, he explained he feels like he brings a uniquely pure appreciation to his performances with Dead and Company.

"I represent this generation of listener who didn't go to those shows," said Mayer. "There was no sensory bonus for the music. I don't know how much a T-shirt was or who made the best chili. I don't have any of that fan show-going experience so I really discovered the music on a totally pure level. … I didn't come it from the experience of 'a friend brought me to a Dead concert in 1987 and I had the time of my life.' I came at it, like, this music transports me to a place in my own imagination."
