An eclectic assortment of artists — including some of kindie rock’s biggest names — have come together for the new benefit release Let All the Children Boogie: A Tribute to David Bowie.

Ultimate Classic Rock presents the exclusive premiere of the album’s “Space Oddity” cover, performed by Gustafer Yellowgold and the Pop-Ups — two acts who might not be familiar to listeners without children, but whose Grammy-nominated work ranks with the most acclaimed among the family-friendly set. The track is just one of 20 new recordings assembled for the compilation, due out via Spare the Rock Records on Nov. 18.

As with previous Spare the Rock titles, which have collectively raised more than $115,000 for non-profit initiatives including the Haitian People’s Support Project and Girls Inc., Let All the Children Boogie is a benefit release. All proceeds have been earmarked for the It Gets Better Project, whose work on behalf of LGBT youth is lauded in the label’s press release as helping create “a world where all the children can boogie freely.”

Let All The Children Boogie: A Tribute to David Bowie is available to pre-order now. Check out the complete track listing and listen to “Space Oddity” below.
