The most successful bands are always greater than the sum of their individual parts, and to provide an excellent example of that principle in action, here are Courtney Love's isolated guitar and vocals from a Hole concert in 2010.

The person behind this rather mean-spirited act of exposure is filmmaker J.M. Ladd, who explains on the video's YouTube page that he was hired to document the show but never paid. "I was hired through the venue to record this show, and was then left standing with a hard drive and an invoice no one seemed to want ... This is not fake. Whether you think she’s the worst or this just makes her all the more 'punk rock' is for you to decide. I’m merely presenting the facts as they are. Make of them what you will."

Some commenters have pointed out that Love has essentially stopped playing guitar in recent years, and uses the instrument mainly as a stage prop to rock more convincingly. It's worth noting that she's hardly alone on that front -- and it might also be worth checking out the complete mix of the Hole performance in question (see below), which isn't the train wreck it might have seemed to be in the above video. Like we said: The sum is greater than the parts.
