There's an old perception that the music business is one big party of sex, drugs and rock and roll. But sometimes, as this list of 15 infamous rock lawsuits plainly demonstrates, the reality is closer to something like "court, lawyers and legal briefs."
It's no big surprise when rock stars die by certain means. Drugs and alcohol, for instance, have certainly taken their fair share of musicians from us, and so have plane crashes (for god's sake, people -- stay out of twin engine planes!). Choking on one's own vomit is such a fashionable way to go that it provided one of the most classic scenes in 'This Is Spinal Tap,' when a band member recalls that a former colleague "died by choking on vomit -- someone else's vomit."
As if it weren't enough for our favorite musicians to have the title of 'rockstar' -- any man's dream -- some of these guys also have the necessary essentials to make them the kings of all kings.
As these musician mug shots demonstrate quite clearly, the rebellious spirit of rock and roll can sometimes place some of its most famous creators in situations outside of the law, and ultimately, in front of a police station camera after being arrested.
