You know, it's sort of fitting that the mystery yearbook photo of this singer-songwriter is warped. The musician pictured was born December 7, 1949 and has the rare gift of being beloved by fans of classic rock as well as alternative and punk.

Here's another hint. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on the 'One From the Heart' soundtrack. He's also won Grammys and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.

He also has several acting roles under his worn-out belt, including a part in 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' and in one of the vignettes in 'Coffee and Cigarettes,' which, given his voice's ragged sound, are the main ingredients in his diet. He starred opposite fellow rocker Iggy Pop in the film.
