Born May 6, 1945, this classic rocker graduated from Pioneer High School in 1963, which was known as Ann Arbor High at the time. While in high school, he ran track and field. Decades later, on May 28, 2011, he was granted his very own day in the Motor City -- both to acknowledge his legendary music career and as a "thank you" for all he'd done for the city and its auto industry.
