Can You Guess the Artist in This Yearbook Photo?

This Midwestern guitarist, who was born in December of 1946, is known for his wild style of dress and his five-necked guitars. Checkerboard vans (as well as an overall checkerboard motif) and a near-constant baseball cap are his signatures.

Needless to say, it's quite interesting to see him as a youngster and without a hat on his head, revealing a bit of mop-topped 'do. That's some a spiffy jacket, too! His band is known for its power pop and classic rock anthems, and is still going strong after nearly 40 years.
