Can You Guess the Artist in This Yearbook Photo?
The late rocker featured in this yearbook photo has been dead nearly 20 years, but he is still beloved, revered, remembered and respected — if maybe not fully understood — all these decades later.
This, uh, mother of invention was always unpredictable with his psychedelic music, but as a graduate, doesn’t he look so prim and proper with that institutional cap and gown? This photo was taken in 1958, and you can’t tell from this photo that in just a few short years, he would hit his musical stride. The ‘60s were a definitive decade for him, but he remained productive and creative in the ’70s and ’80s, as well. And man, could he shut up and play that guitar!
