Watch Every Cover Song From Bruce Springsteen’s 2014 Tour

Throughout his career, Bruce Springsteen has often laced his sets with other people’s songs. For the ‘High Hopes’ tour, we’re compiling videos of every cover song he performs over the duration of the tour.

Traditionally, Springsteen starts his tours with a semi-rigid setlist that blends his hits, the songs on his newest album and a few obscurities that connect to the musical and lyrical themes on the new album. As the weeks turn into months, the setlists open up as the newer songs get jettisoned in favor of whatever he feels like playing, including covers, many of which calls back to Springsteen and the E Street Band’s roots in the rock and soul of the ’50s and ’60s.

But it didn’t take long for that to happen on the ‘High Hopes’ tour, which, to date, has reached South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. After the first few shows it became obvious that the setlists would not be predictable, and covers have been a major part of the equation. They’ve ranged from longtime favorites like ‘Trapped’ by Jimmy Cliff and John Fogerty‘s ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’ to one-off nods to hitmakers who hail from the city where Springsteen is performing that particular night.

That “anything goes” policy continued as the tour hit North America this spring. So enjoy these videos of cover songs from the ‘High Hopes’ tour.
