Warren Haynes' longtime guitar tech Brian Farmer has died. The guitarist announced the news on his band Gov't Mule's Twitter page this morning.

Farmer has been with Haynes since the '90s, following the busy guitarist and frontman through the various bands and projects he's played with over the decades, including the Allman Brothers Band, the Dead, Phil Lesh & Friends and, of course, his own Gov't Mule and solo gigs.

Gov't Mule announced on their Facebook page that Farmer passed away yesterday at his home near Nashville. There are no details on the cause of Farmer's death at this time.

Haynes also posted several memorials on his own Twitter page, all including the hashtag #ThankYouFarmer. "He was a close friend, a devoted worker and a lover of life," reads one post. "We traveled around the world together and shared many experiences -- mostly while laughing," reads another.

As JamBase notes, today also marks the anniversary of original Gov't Mule bassist Allen Woody's death in 2000.

Farmer was a well-known figure at Haynes' concerts over the years. In the video below, he shares some of his road stories with the audience between sets.
