Bon Scott Docu-Drama Coming to the Big Screen
Late AC/DC vocalist Bon Scott lived a lot of life in just a short amount of time, but remains one of the more intriguing musicians to ever pick up a microphone. As such, High Voltage Productions are hoping to share a bit more of his story in a new docu-drama titled ‘Bon Scott – The Legend of AC/DC.’
Blabbermouth reports that the film began pre-production in March of this year, and while other Scott films have been proposed over the years, the company is hoping that theirs is the first to make it to the big screen.
Singer/writer Rob Liotti has been penning the screenplay for the film. Liotti is also known for portraying Bon Scott in the AC/DC tribute band, TNT, and he’s expected to take on the starring role in the film portraying the late singer.
The plot of the film is said to explore the period of time in which Scott helped catapult the band to international stardom only to pass away in 1980 after a misadventure.
Liotti explained, “There are a lot of challenges with a project of this type. One of the biggest challenges is authenticity. This is an American production of an ostensibly Australian-based story. Therefore, dialect is highly important, as well as capturing the true dynamic of the band and its members.”
