The advance single from Bob Dylan's upcoming album makes clear his long-rumored return to the Frank Sinatra catalog. You can hear "Melancholy Mood," a simmering torch song first recorded by Sinatra with the Harry James Orchestra in 1939, above.

Dylan adds the expected element of dark gruffness to the tune, part of the upcoming record Fallen Angels, a follow-up to last year's similarly themed Shadows in the Night. You can see the complete track listing for the LP below.

Due on May 20, Fallen Angels follows through on Dylan's penchant for finding lesser-known Sinatra fare. "Melancholy Mood" was originally the B-side to Sinatra's first-ever single, "From the Bottom of My Heart." But Dylan also offers reinterpretations of a few very well-known standards this time, including "All the Way" (one of Sinatra's best-known '50s-era hits) and "All or Nothing at All" (which he first recorded in 1939).

This nostalgic turn has served Dylan well: Shadows in the Night reached the U.S. Top 10 and topped the U.K. charts.

Fallen Angels will be supported by a string of summer shows, beginning with a pair of dates in Washington on June 4 – not long after Dylan's 75th birthday. The tour continues through late July. Some shows will include Mavis Staples opening.
