As much as we all like to complain about people taking cell phone videos at concerts (something Peter Frampton knows a thing or two about), they can sometimes bring those oh-my-God-did-that-really-happen moments to the rest of the world. The latest took place at Billy Joel's Aug. 7 show at Madison Square Garden, where ex-wife Christie Brinkley is spotted in the crowd during 'Uptown Girl.'

You can see in the video above that, as Joel started the song, he directed one of the cameraman to get a shot of someone in the front. Cheers ring out from the crowd, but we don't know the full details until the end, when the fan gets a shot of the video screens and a beaming Brinkley is seen. The supermodel posted a picture of it on Instagram.

'Uptown Girl' was written during their courtship, and, after she famously appeared in the video, the Four Seasons-inspired hit became synonymous with Brinkley, and their relationship. The couple divorced in 1994 after nine years of marriage. Vanity Fair notes that 'Uptown Girl' temporarily disappeared from the setlist after their split.

It's not the first time Joel's personal life had an effect on his concerts. He has often said that he stopped singing 'Just the Way You Are' after his first divorce, because his then-drummer Liberty DeVitto would jokingly change the titular lyric to "She got the house / She got the car."
