Billy Idol Postpones Tour Dates Due to Illness
Idol broke the news in a post at his official website, explaining that the first two dates on the itinerary were being postponed because he’s battling a “pesky chest infection” that would have prevented him from giving the crowds the full Idol-tude they’ve come to expect. “I’m really disappointed to be missing everyone this week in the Big Easy and Atlanta,” reads his statement. “I was excited for these gigs but want to make sure I can give you the full on Idol rock show you deserve. Thank you for understanding while I get over this bug. We’ll be back later this year!”
Idol’s New Orleans date, originally scheduled for tonight, and his show tomorrow in Atlanta will both be rescheduled. Details have yet to be announced, but Idol’s site says fans who’d planned on attending “should hold on to their tickets until information about the rescheduled dates becomes available in the near future.”
The North American leg of the tour is now scheduled to begin Jan. 24 and run through Feb. 22. In March, Idol will head to Australia and New Zealand, with European dates on the docket for the summer. You can check out a complete list of dates here.
